BAT & BAR MITZVAH
For boys, in addition to their Aliya and reading from the Torah on Shabbat morning, they are welcome to attend the first Monday or Thursday morning following their 13th birthday (in the Jewish calendar) to receive their first call up and to put on Tefillin. The family is also welcome to come in a few days before the Bar Mitzvah for a rehearsal and to take photos. Please speak to Rabbi Shmuel to coordinate.
For girls, we have a range of meaningful Bat Mitzvah ceremonies including our very popular pre-Shabbat candle lighting on Friday evening, as well as Shabbat morning or Havdalah as Shabbat goes out. At each ceremony, the Bat Mitzvah girl can deliver her Dvar Torah in the presence of family and friends. Please speak to Rivki to discuss suitable ceremony options and Dvar Torah preparation.
