UIA & Central Shule invite you to hear Daniel Wolfson
The first and only Israeli woman to summit Everest
Shabbat 6 April, after the service.
Service 9am. Special Kiddush 11:30am.
No charge
Daniel is gearing up to ascend Australia’s Mount Kosciuszko marking the completion of her “seven summits” challenge.
Daniel is an ordinary and extraordinary woman – a single mother, a lawyer, a careerist and a mountain climber.
Ten years before she climbed the world’s highest mountain, Wolfson was seriously injured when she fell off a cable car during a skiing holiday in Bulgaria. She was told it was unlikely she would walk again, let alone climb the highest and most challenging peaks on Earth.
Growing up in the Soviet Union during the Cold War, Daniel shares the story of her overwhelming expedition, how she dealt with unexpected challenges, moments of staring death in the eyes, willpower, vigilance and her belief that everyone can conquer their own Everest.
